Among other topics, Gauthier discusses the effect of magnetic treatments, the way the mental and physical condition of the magnetizer affects the outcome, the methods of magnetizing, the use of magnetized objects in treatment, the use of animal magnetism on animals, the phases of magnetic cures and the phenomena of magnetic somnambulism. As in most of Gauthier’s work, a historical orientation for all aspects of animal magnetism is apparent.
