HSLS's own librarians, with partners from the University Library System, share data about electronic lab notebook services in "Survey results of academic / health science library roles in providing support for electronic lab notebooks".

Thursday’s Dataset Highlight: Neuroscience

This #LoveDataWeek2019, HSLS is shining a light on Pitt researchers' datasets shared through the Pitt Data Catalog. Dr. Neeraj Gandhi is a professor of neuroscience and bioengineering who studies the neural signatures of action and cognition. His dataset "Eye movements evoked by simultaneous stimulation of two sites in superior colliculus" is available with author approval via a link in the Pitt Data Catalog.

Wednesday’s Dataset Highlight: Public Health

This #LoveDataWeek2019, HSLS is shining a light on Pitt researchers' datasets shared through the Pitt Data Catalog. Project Tycho is a repository of global health data based at the Graduate School of Public Health. Their pre-compiled datasets of historical disease information are publicized through the Pitt Data Catalog, as in "Counts of diphtheria reported in the United States of America: 1888-1981".

Paul Pilkonis (Dept. of Psychiatry) has shared multiple datasets related to two decades of personality studies through the Pitt Data Catalog, with dozens more to be added. See "Pilkonis Personality Studies: Adult Attachment Ratings (AAR) / Adult Attachment Prototype Rating (AAPR)" for an example of SPSS data and accompanying codebooks shared from a repository.

Monday’s Dataset Highlight: Dental Research

Spallek et al.'s "Data from: Perceptions and Attitudes toward Data Sharing among Dental Researchers" presents data on 42 dental researchers' experiences and opinions about sharing research data within their field.

JAMA off campus access issue identified

Currently users are experiencing trouble accessing JAMA from off campus locations.  We hope to have access restored as soon as possible.  1/31/2019.

PsychiatryOnline offline through Remote Access

10/26 - Update.  PsychiatryOnline access has been restored.

PsychiatryOnline is current not working through Remote Access.  We are currently working with the vendor to restore access. 

Nature Down

October 18, 2018

Update on 10/18.  Nature is back up again.

Nature is currently experiencing technical difficulties.  Some users have had success using the IE browser.  

 

Natural Medicines database - temporary disruption.

We have identified a service disruption with the Natural Medicines database on 9/5/2018.  We are working to resolve the issue promptly.

Exam Master limited availablity
